Albus is the second son of the famous Harry Potter. He’s lived with the weight of not only his famous last name, but the added pressure of being named after Albus Dumbledore, arguably, the greatest wizard since Merlin himself, and Severus Snape, the former Potions Master and one of the bravest men Harry Potter had ever met. Growing up, he fully expected to not only meet everyone’s expectations but that he would exceed them. Sadly, upon arriving at Hogwarts he found not the wondrous, magical and welcoming place his father had always talked about - but an unforgiving exercise in failure and a reminder that Albus may be named after three great wizards, but he is anything but great. If it wasn’t for his best mate Scorpius Malfoy, he would have walked back to the Hogwarts Express the moment Sorting was over and demanded the train take him home.

Albus inherited his mother’s dry wit and his father’s stubbornness. His temper, however, is all his own. Instead of doing his best to prove everyone at Hogwarts wrong, he embraces failure as a way of life. He hates the fact that others refer to him as the Slytherin Squib, but there’s little he does that changes his classmate's minds. His only reprieve is Scorpius and together they develop an “us against the world” attitude.

With Scorpius, Albus is sarcastic, witty, adventurous, and charming. While he’s not ambitious about school work, he does want to make a name for himself that is entirely his own. He’s self-centered and selfish at times, tending to steer every conversation back to himself. Albus likes being the center of Scorpius’ world and will devise schemes and plans if only to entertain his best friend. To the rest of the world, Albus appears moody and secretive, lashing out whenever he feels he (or Scorpius) is being attacked. Up until 4th year, Albus keeps his true personality hidden, not willing to let the people who scorned him come too close. One of the people he pushes away is his father and, in a pivotal moment in Albus’ life, his worst fears are realized when his father, in a fit of anger, blurts out that he wishes Albus was not his son. This prompts Albus to prove his worth to his father, albeit in a very immature and childish way. By the end of the ordeal, Albus discovers his self-worth and that trying to live up to the legacy of his name isn’t as important as doing what is right and looking out for the people you love.

While Albus never loses his self-centered streak, his anger at the world has mostly disappeared. Now that he’s older, he shows more people the side of himself that only Scorpius had ever seen. Being the Slytherin Squib didn’t matter anymore. He stopped caring about what people thought about him and focused on what he thought about himself. He’s in a much better place now, especially in regards to his relationship with his family and his father.

In the three years that have passed since Albus nearly destroyed the world (he is rather sorry about that, but at least he put it back to right), he has come out of his shell. He’d been through hell and back with Scorpius. He’d stood with his father and mother as they watched and listened to the death of his grandparents. He’d seen what his ambition to be different and better than his father had created. Albus didn’t want to be that angry any longer. Not when it would be so easy to lose the people he cared about the most.

Albus began to focus on creating his own mark on the world - one that was purely his own. A weight had been lifted off his shoulders and the moody, angsty, angry teenager he’d been disappeared. He was still morbidly sarcastic and his tendency to direct every conversation to be centered around himself was still very well intact, but he lightened up a bit and even made peace with his cousin Rose, welcoming her into his little circle of friends (a circle made up of only Scorpius).

That all began to change the moment Scorpius asked a female friend to the Yule Ball in the sixth year. He knew his best mate was bound to start dating, eventually. What Albus hadn't expected was his own reaction. In an instant, he was faced with the real possibility that he would have to share Scorpius with someone else and that bothered him in ways he hadn’t anticipated. He argued with Scorpius and said some things he didn’t mean but that was cruel and cutting. It’s a talent he seemed to have inherited from his father, one he wasn’t very proud of having. Worse still, the row occurred in public during the middle of the dance. He sulked off, ignoring the snickers and the half muttered: “Get a room, you wankers.” (Although, he is happy to say that the ass who said such a thing suddenly had a face full of bat bogeys which was purely coincidental).

Afterward, he refused to speak to Scorpius, avoiding him in the halls until a friend pulled him aside to knock some sense into him. She was the first to ask him point blank if he cared for Scorpius more than a friend and Albus didn’t know how to respond. Because it was Scorpius, always, and it wasn’t even a question of why. She didn’t push the matter but did kick him for being an idiot which he sorely needed. That day he apologized to Scorpius, admitted to being a right ass, and that Scorpius could date whoever he wanted. Even though the thought of having to share Scorpius with someone else wasn’t a thought he liked to entertain, unless he was willing to admit there was something more to his and Scorpius relationship, he was going to have to live with the possibility. Thankfully, Scorpius accepted his apology and to Albus’ relief, Scorpius' date wasn’t interested in Scorpius as anything more than a friend which suited Albus just fine.

Albus never broke out of his mediocrity when it came to magic except in the area of Charms. He had a knack for bewitching objects and found magical items fascinating. During Seventh Year, his only NEWT level class was Charms. Scorpius, on the other hand, was in as many NEWT classes as he could fit into his schedule which meant they spent a good deal of the school day apart. At first, Albus didn’t know how he was going to get through his other classes without his better half, but thankfully, Scorpius found time to tutor Albus in the middle of his hectic study schedule. Albus repaid him by being a constant cheerleader, going out of his way to make sure his best friend had everything he needed to succeed. One such example was making sure the House Elves brought Scorpius something to eat should he skip dinner in favor of a long study session in the library. Both of their hard work paid off. Albus received an O in Charms, while Scorpius swept six of the seven with O’s of his own.

After school, Albus is mostly focused on finding a flat that he and Scorpius can share. His Aunt Hermione offered him an internship at the Ministry in the Muggle Department studying misplaced magical items, but he isn’t ready for Ministry work just yet. Instead, he took his Uncle Ron up on his offer to work at Weasley’s Wizard Wheezes for a bit, just until he can figure out what he wants to do for a career. He’s excited to be moving out on his own and break away from the cloud of celebrity that has always followed him. Waking up in the 1980s is a right shock to the system, one he is unprepared for. His first instincts will be to search out Scorpius and his grandparents in the hopes that together they will be able to figure things out. He’s afraid that this backlash in time is a direct result from their previous adventure with the time turner. Albus is determined to do whatever it takes to put the world right again.

He succeeded once before… how difficult will it be to do it again, right?


Albus graduated Hogwarts with a single NEWT level course in Charms (which he passed with an O, he might add). He has a fascination with bewitching ordinary objects and magical items, but he doubts he could carry that into a job at the Ministry (no that he’d particularly want to work there).
